Robert Scheer:
A nationally syndicated columnist currently based at the San Francisco Chronicle, Scheer is also editor-in-chief of Truthdig.com, 2007 Webby Award winner for best political blog, a contributing editor to The Nation, and host of the NPR program, “Left, Right and Center,” on KCRW in Santa Monica. Between 1964-69, he was a Vietnam Correspondent and editor-in-chief of Ramparts Magazine. He spent 29 years as a national reporter and columnist for the Los Angeles Times. He was a consultant on Oliver Stone’s film, Nixon, and played the part of a journalist in Warren Beatty’s Bullworth. He has written seven books, including With Enough Shovels: Reagan, Bush and Nuclear War.

The Pornography of Power:
Called “pugnacious” and “vigorously researched” with “prose . . . as clear as his evidence” in a Publisher’s Weekly review, Scheer’s latest book “takes aim at America’s defense policy and bloated military budget.”
